International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapha Mohamed (pix) said this was in line with the industrial production index (IPI) which recorded an uptick of 15%.
He said this development bode well for Malaysia as the E&E sector made up a third of all Malaysian exports.
He attributed three factors the country had for the positive development comprising good infrastructure, macroeconomic stability and political stability.
Innoplex is the largest R&D facility outside the USA where the mobile communications provider is based. Its seven floors and 21,088 sq meters will house 1,200 engineers.
The centre is focused on developing next generation mission-critical Land Mobile Radio (LMR), broadband LTE devices and system solutions.
Motorola Solutions managing director Dr Hari Narayanan said the company had spent more than USD20million (RM63.73million) on establishing the centre.
"Motorola is focused on bringing the advantages of digital communications technology to its clients," he said.
